Tune Of The Week: Danny Byrd - Planet Earth // Hospital Records

This is actually being given away this week on iTunes as Single Of The Week. And this is the Newsicmoos TUNE OF THE WEEK. Any coincidence? Or just great taste in music?

This tune has already been compared to The Prodigy's style and is one boing away 'Outer Space'. This I conclude is not a bad thing. It's bringing back those sounds of ravey jungle, allowing people like me to reignite those memories and allowing the youth of today to subscribe to their very own 'Outer Space' moment. Taken from latest album Rave Digger, a change in musical scope is here and expect it to be heard at any decent club near you this weekend... and many to come.

Big.

Enjoy.

Album: New Zealand Shapeshifter - The System Is A Remix

These five New Zealanders (did you guess?) met in 1999 at jazz school where they merged differing musical tastes such as dub, jazz, hip hop and funk - and it shows. This album is a host of remixes mirroring their July release System Is A Vampire with many stand outs. such as Camo & Krooked's mix of 'The Touch' and Netsky's take of 'The Touch'. Hospital Records have signed up an exciting band here with a splendid mixture of a reworked album. Newsicmoos's stand out track, 'Long White Cloud' posted below.

Enjoy!

Tune Alert: B-Complex - Beautiful Lies VIP

Bratislavan producer B-complex, aka Mato Lenicky, finally releases the already popular ‘Beautiful Lies VIP’ on Hospital Records. It’s cleaner and retains the feel of the original but with added vigour and intensity through new melodies and beats. Mato`s approach to the genre is very unique, tending to steer his own direction, favouring sophisticated melodies and intricate harmonies mashed with the pace and energy of drum and bass - this release is no contradiction to that. Impressive gothic vocals make this track memorable, and it’s inclusion on Hospital compilations means it could sound a bit dated with a release so late, but with backing from High Contrast this track should cement B-Complex firmly on the scene. Newsicmoos recommends you check him out in his tour.
