Finally Julie McKnight by Defected Records

The ITunes festival is in full swing and to commermorate Defected's unique weekend on the 23rd/24th July, they have posted up an absolute definitive house classic that anybody who's anybody will know. Julie McKnight doing a little acapella of timeless 'Finally'. And to coincide with 10 years of Defected In The House, the latest compilation entitled Enjoy Music takes you on a journey through past and present, dancefloor and beachy memories.

Single: Dennis Ferrer - Hey Hey. BUY NOW!

Did you hear her say..HEY HEY, come buy my record and support quality house music!

Though this anthem has been circulating club world for a fair few months now, it is only this week that Ferrer's 'Hey Hey' gets an official release. Could this be one of few genuinely good house tracks that could smash the single charts this week? We'll have to wait and see. For now, another remix of this timeless piece of genius.

Tune Of The Week: James Talk & Ridney - Forever

This post probably provides a little too much promotion for Pete Tong and his Essential Tune, with it's branding slapped across the face of the above YouTube video. Like the world doesn't know him and his "essential tune" already? No, I'm not bitter!

Though this tune was released a couple of months ago, it is now that I'm posting it because the momentum behind the popularity is in the airwaves. It's summertime vibe, only applicable to people on holiday at the moment, along with a repetitive mantra of 'We'll live forever' provides a platform for meditation. Or, maybe it just reflects a young man's attempts of clinging to an everlasting youth.

Either way, I'm sure it conjures up memories for house heads who remember the original. And it's nice to see Ridney is all over the place too.

The summer is nearing and the festivals are calling. Let's get this party started!

Tune Of The Week: Ridney - At Night

Defected puts forth another little blinding debut release from a guy who has been storming the house scene over the past couple of years. Here, Ridney delivers a dancefloor winner incorporating twisty echoes of synth build ups and a happy clapping, infectious beat, bouncing sounds of a deeper side of Deadmau5 and Josh Wink's 'A Higher State Of Consciousness'.

Sure to be a hit on peak time dance floors, we shall await Ridney's next instalment.

New Single: ATFC - I Called You (The Conversation)

Aydin Hasirci, much better known as ATFC, releases 'I Called You (The Conversation)' this week on Defected Records. It's an enticing floor stomper; with sax playing that's determined in its duty to hypnotise whilst being apported over a house beat, happy clapping and a progressively sazzy sounding production. It's affiliation to Defected is written all over its saxy sound, enough to turn any conversation in to a conjoined prance.

First, a remix of Sandy Rivera's 'Whatever'.



And a tune that ripped through Ibiza this year is 'Tell U Y' featuring uplifting vocals from Yasmeen. The bouncy nature of this tune can be attributed to New Jack Swing's remix.
